  18. <p>     There's a long, long trail awinding between Anchorage and
  19. Nome, and Susan Butcher travels it faster than anyone else.
  20. Butcher, 35, set a record last week in Alaska's annual
  21. 1,158-mile Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, which was plagued by
  22. marauding moose that had nasty run-ins with several sledders.
  23. It was the fourth time Butcher won the mushing marathon, and
  24. after crossing the finish line she praised the stamina of the
  25. canine champs she and husband David Monson raised and trained.
  26. Said she dogmatically: "This team had power coming out of its
  27. ears." Hear, hear.
